Join us for our one-off Christmas workshop at M Café on Todd Street with Aimee from Bloom HQ Florists. Get in the festive cheer with this unique Wreath Making Class and create something special this year.
Hanging a wreath up on your door has become a huge tradition all over the world. It’s something you see at this time of the year that just accelerates the excitement for the festive season, – a Christmas staple you might say!
However, whether you make or purchase your wreath each year, did you know the history of the wreath apparently goes back to the ancient culture of the Persian Empire?
Wreaths were traditionally named diadems, meaning ‘a thing bound around’. A diadem was a band of fabric worn around the head of a royal, symbolizing victory and royalty.
They were also known in the Roman Empire to represent eternity and morality, resulting in the Romans displaying the circle of evergreen on the doors of their houses.
See, the tradition goes back much further than we think and is famous all over the world.
Nowadays, you’ll see a lot of variety in styles, designs, and materials used in wreath making. Some like to decorate them with modern jewels and bling and some stick to the traditional evergreen branches only.
Even though we all have our reasons for hanging a wreath, I think we can all agree that no matter how we make them our own, they symbolize the joy of the festive season!
And with the festive cheer in the air, we are so excited to announce our first collaboration with Bloom HQ Florist for a fun wreath making class! Join us in our sister Café M Café on Todd Street and for a reasonable price of £50.00 youwill experience a truly unique afternoon full of festive fun.
